Marquette's Office of Health Promotion, Prevention and Advocacy invites the campus community to participate in honoring Sexual Assault Awareness Month this April. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the national SAAM campaign; programming at Marquette will honor that milestone with a full month of events, spanning education, healing and community building.
Each week carries a theme. The month opens by looking back at the roots of the sexual assault awareness movement, before shifting focus to survivors whose voices have always been the center of this work.
Later weeks turn toward shared responsibility in prevention and, finally, envisioning the next 25 years of change.
Throughout the month, the Health Promotion, Prevention and Advocacy office, in partnership with the Office of Inclusion and Belonging, the Counseling Center and the Center for Peacemaking, has created weekly opportunities to attend and engage with the offices.
