ADVISORY - DAUPHIN COUNTY - Shapiro Administration to Invest Nearly $3.5 Million to Help Small Businesses Cut Energy Costs Through RISE PA SAT Grants

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary Jessica Shirley will announce nearly $3.5 million in RISE PA grants to help small businesses cut energy costs and reduce air pollution. Secretary Shirley will make the announcement at Tregs Independent Brewing alongside the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) Executive Director Alanna Colvin and State Senator Patty Kim.

The RISE PA grant program is a $396 million statewide industrial decarbonization grant program funded through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Pollution Reduction Grants. The Small-scale Award Track (SAT) program is administered by PennTAP and supports small businesses across Pennsylvania.

Tregs, one of the grant recipients, will use its funding to help offset the cost of installing a carbon dioxide reclamation system at its facility, which captures carbon dioxide (CO2) from the fermentation process and reuses it in later stages of beverage production.
