Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus Zhou Yunliang Meets with Athienou Mayor Kyriakos Kareklas
On February 5, 2026, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus Zhou Yunliang met with Mayor of Athienou Kyriakos Kareklas.
Chargé d'Affaires Zhou noted that subnational cooperation plays a unique and important role in promoting China-Cyprus relations. The Chinese side is ready to step up engagement with Athienou, so as to support the further deepening of the China-Cyprus strategic partnership.
Mayor Kareklas commended China's achievements in high-quality development, especially urban management and green transition. He expressed willingness to further enhance practical cooperation with China.
