Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis Visits 193th Multiple Rocket Launcher Battalion and XX Armoured Division Headquarters at the Area of Responsibility of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace

On Friday 18 September 2026, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Thanasis Davakis, visited the 193^th Multiple Rocket Launcher Battalion and the Headquarters of the XX Armoured Division "MAKEDONIA", at the Area of Responsibility of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace.

The Deputy Minister was received by the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos, and the Commanding General of the XX Armoured Division, Major General Aristidis Kavarligos. During his visit, Mr. Davakis was briefed on the mission and operational capabilities of the Battalion and the Division, and was given a tour of their facilities. He also discussed with their personnel and enlisted soldiers.

On the occasion of his visit, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, made the following statement:

"Today, I found myself close to the personnel and enlisted soldiers of the 193^rd Multiple Rocket Launcher Battalion and the historic XX Armoured Brigade, where, once again, I confirmed the excellent skills, high morale, and operational readiness of the women and men of our Armed Forces, who protect our Country's national security and territorial integrity with self-denial.

I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for their work and assure them, on behalf of the political leadership, that we are making the greatest possible efforts, in order to improve the condition of their workspace, as well as the daily lives of them and their families".
