The Orchard Mesa Pool will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, July 30, to allow for necessary repairs. The pool closure is expected to be brief, with plans to reopen the same day and resume normal operations.
The new boiler unit, recently installed at the facility, is connected to an aged impeller that operates in tandem with the new system. City staff and contractors are scheduled to replace the impeller on Wednesday. The pool hours are expected to resume the same day; updates will be shared on the City Parks and Recreation social media platforms.
The Orchard Mesa Pool is located at 2736 Unaweep Ave. It was built in 1983 through a three-way partnership between Mesa County, the City, and School District #51, who owns the land and the building. Mesa County is no longer a partner. The School District continues to own the building and land, and the City operates the facility.
