Cooling Centers

️ Important Notice for Mount Vernon Residents ️

In response to the ongoing heatwave, the City of Mount Vernon has established cooling centers to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Residents are encouraged to visit the Doles Center, Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital, and the Mount Vernon Public Library to find relief from the heat. ❄️️

Please remain vigilant for signs of heat-related illnesses. Heat stroke symptoms include hot, dry skin, confusion, and a rapid pulse. If you or someone else experiences these signs, please call 911 immediately.

Additionally, be aware of heat exhaustion, which may present as headaches, nausea, dizziness, or fatigue. In such cases, it is important to move to a cooler area and apply wet cloths for relief.

Stay safe, hydrated, and cool, Mount Vernon. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
