Traffic Runner McDonald Rivet remains silent as Michiganders go without representation

July 17, 2025

After 195 days, more than 270,000 Michiganders are still left without representation because of self-serving Democrat Kristen McDonald Rivet.

The Detroit Free Press Editorial Board is now pushing for Gov. Whitmer to call a special election, yet Kristen McDonald Rivet remains silent.

Michigan's Democrat Attorney General Dana Nessel said, "I think that [Whitmer] should call the election" and that "the people of that Senate district deserve to be represented." Michigan's Democrat Lieutenant Governor previously admitted the district's residents are "ready" for a special election while stating he hopes it's "happening soon."

Yet, Kristen McDonald Rivet went as far as to run into oncoming traffic to avoid answering whether she believes Michiganders deserve representation.

This is by far the longest time frame in Governor Whitmer's tenure between a State Senate seat vacancy and a special election announcement.

After nearly 200 days, will Kristen McDonald Rivet remain silent despite growing frustration from her constituents or call on Governor Whitmer to hold a special election?

*Be careful asking: McDonald Rivet might run into oncoming traffic again to avoid answering
