M-58 (State Street) work resumes March 9 in Saginaw

SAGINAW, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will resume work March 9 on a $13 million investment to rebuild 1.1 miles of eastbound M-58 (State Street) from Avalon Avenue to M-84 (Bay Street) in Saginaw.

Work includes road reconstruction and paving, storm sewer installation, sidewalk and driveway improvements, and installing new traffic signals. Work is expected to continue through this summer.

Eastbound M-58 (State Street) is currently closed and detoured onto westbound M-58 (Davenport Avenue). Westbound M-58 was converted into a two-way road with a temporary center turn lane for the duration of this project.

This long-term investment will provide a smoother ride and extend the service life of the roadway.
