Roscoe Road Bridge Closure

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. -

The Roscoe Road bridge over the Rock River will be closed starting the week of July 6th until the end of November, 2026 for structural repairs and rehabilitation. The project includes steel beam repairs, new bearings, expansion joints, concrete deck, asphalt approaches, bridge rails and other structural repairs.

A detour route will be provided, additional traffic control and temporary traffic signals will be installed at the Roscoe Road/Old River Road intersection for the duration of the bridge closure. Message boards will be installed on both sides of the bridge ten days before the closure. Coordination has been on going with the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department, Roscoe and Rockton Police Departments, the villages of Roscoe and Rockton, the school districts and others.

Duration of the work is weather dependent; however, the plan is to have the bridge open to traffic by the end of November 2026. Some restoration work, pavement markings and final asphalt surface may not be completed until the spring of 2027.

Delays are expected and alternate routes should be considered. Please use caution in work zones.
