Watering Restrictions for Portion of Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2026) - Due to below average rainfall during the summer rainy season, the Southwest Florida Water Management District has declared a water shortage restriction for a portion of Charlotte County.

Charlotte County residents, including those on private wells, are asked to limit watering to once per week. This measure is in effect from Feb. 8, 2026, through July 1, 2026:

  • Even-numbered addresses: Thursday or Sunday, 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
  • Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesday or Saturday, 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
  • No discernible address (rights-of-way, subdivision common areas): Tuesday or Friday, 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Hand watering and micro-irrigation of plants (not lawns) are allowed any day, any time.
