Oakland University's School of Business Administration has launched a new Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Analytics, a 15-credit program designed to help working professionals and recent graduates build in-demand skills at the intersection of supply chain management and business analytics.
The certificate is designed for students who have earned a bachelor's degree in any field and are looking to upskill, cross-train or transition into analytics-focused roles. As organizations continue to rely on data-driven decision-making across logistics, procurement, inventory and production, the demand for professionals who understand both supply chain management and analytics continues to grow.
"Today's supply chain professionals need to do more than understand operations. They need to know how to use data to make smarter, faster and more strategic decisions," said Dr. Vijayan Sugumaran, distinguished professor of management information systems and chair of the Department of Decision and Information Sciences at Oakland University. "This certificate brings together supply chain management and business analytics in a practical way, giving students skills they can apply immediately in their organizations."
The program's curriculum is designed to evolve alongside advancements in the field and incorporates real-world problems from manufacturing and service organizations. Through applied projects and practice-oriented coursework, students will develop skills in logistics optimization, supply chain analytics and business data analysis.
"These real-world projects enhance the learning experience for students while also creating value for employers," Sugumaran said. "Organizations need qualified talent in this area, and this program provides a time- and cost-effective way for professionals to build those capabilities."
The fully online option allows students to complete the program from anywhere while balancing work, life and other commitments. Applicants to the online program will be assessed at in-state resident tuition rates.
The Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Analytics is part of OU's continued effort to offer flexible, career-relevant graduate business programs that respond to industry needs and prepare students for emerging opportunities in the business world.
