Gov. Braun, Indiana State Police Tout Major Public Safety Wins in Southern Indiana
SELLERSBURG, Ind. - Governor Mike Braun joined Indiana State Police in Sellersburg today to highlight major public safety wins achieved across Southern Indiana in just under the first six months of 2026, including the dismantling of interstate drug trafficking networks, the seizure of dangerous narcotics and firearms, and dozens of arrests targeting violent criminals and drug dealers.
In less than six months, Indiana State Police operations in Southern Indiana have resulted in 84 arrests, the seizure of more than 48 pounds of methamphetamine, more than two dozen firearms removed from criminal hands, more than $50,000 in illicit cash recovered, and the disruption of major drug pipelines bringing narcotics into Indiana from Louisville, Cincinnati, and Phoenix.
"Indiana State Police are going above and beyond to keep Hoosiers safe. This is clear when you take into account all that Troopers in Southern Indiana alone have accomplished just this year," said Gov. Braun. "These accomplishments show what happens when law enforcement has the support, resources, and leadership needed to do their jobs."
