Sen. Ossoff Delivering Resources to Strengthen Violence Prevention Programs in Fulton County

Atlanta, Ga. - U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering resources to strengthen community violence prevention programs in Fulton County.

Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to help expand violence prevention programs in Atlanta public schools.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering resources to CHRIS 180 to help expand their violence prevention work in Atlanta public schools. Project Prevent School Violence aims to provide mental health support, family resources, and training for teachers and staff in Atlanta public schools with increased risk for violence.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $528,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on January 23.

"Too many young Georgians encounter violence within their community," Sen. Ossoff said. "That's why I brought Republicans and Democrats together to strengthen public safety by funding prevention programs that will help combat violence and keep Fulton County safe."

"Project Prevent School Violence is a critical investment in mental health as a foundational support for students across greater Atlanta. By embedding mental health services in schools, CHRIS 180 is helping children heal from exposure to violence, strengthening families, and building safer, more resilient communities," said Cati Diamond Stone, President & CEO of CHRIS 180. "In communities where violence is a daily reality, access to mental health care is not optional, but essential to preventing future harm and breaking cycles of trauma. We are deeply grateful to Senator Ossoff for securing this funding to strengthen our prevention work in Atlanta Public Schools, allowing us to meet young people where they are, address their mental health needs early, and support their long-term success."
