DENVER - The Colorado Democratic Party congratulates Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder Amanda Gonzalez on winning the Democratic nomination for Colorado Secretary of State and thanks State Sen. Jessie Danielson for her campaign and service to Colorado.

Gonzalez has spent her career protecting access to the ballot, strengthening trust in government, and running fair, secure, and accessible elections. As Secretary of State, she will defend Colorado's nationally recognized election system and stand up to Republican attacks on voting rights.

"Amanda Gonzalez knows elections, knows Colorado, and knows what it takes to protect democracy when it is under attack," said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib. "We are grateful to Jessie Danielson and her supporters for bringing their energy and ideas to this race. Democrats are coming out of this primary united, focused, and ready to win in November."
