HACU-member scholarship available for Spanish language department faculty, staff

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (UPSA) are accepting applications from Spanish language faculty and staff at HACU-member institutions to apply for the Teaching Spanish Scholarship program, a one-week immersive program in Salamanca, Spain, enhancing Spanish language instruction. The application deadline is June 7, 2026.

The UPSA offers 5 scholarships for academics specialized in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) through an intensive one-week program in Salamanca. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Spanish language, culture, and history so they can enrich their teaching as well as their students' learning experience.

This opportunity is primarily aimed at institutions and faculty who are considering whether UPSA and Salamanca could serve as an ideal destination for their students' academic and cultural immersion.

The scholarship covers tuition for a specialized course at Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, including cultural activities deepening understanding of the Spanish language and culture. Participants gain firsthand experience in innovative language teaching methodologies while exploring Salamanca as a potential study-abroad destination for students.
