Monmouth University President Patrick F. Leahy, Ed.D., has been named to the NJBIZ 2025 Education Power List for the sixth straight year.
NJBIZ annually highlights New Jersey's most influential figures in education, including leaders from schools, research institutions, and other non-profit organizations, who have contributed meaningfully to the advancement of the public interest through their work and/or community service.
The business journal praises Leahy for not only navigating significant changes throughout his tenure as president, but also propelling Monmouth forward, setting new year-over-year benchmarks in almost all enrollment measures, signing a comprehensive strategic partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health, launching a major capital campaign with a fundraising goal of over $150 million, and securing a spot in the Coastal Athletic Association.
NJBIZ also highlights Leahy's role as chair of the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music, through which he has spearheaded plans to build a $47 million, 30,000-square-foot-building, and has helped to launch the American Music Honors, an event that brings prominent performers to campus.
The NJBIZ Power Lists are compiled by editorial staff based on their reporting throughout the past year with input from experts in a variety of fields and recommendations from readers. The staff looks for people who have gained public attention and acclaim for their professional accomplishments and public service. Each list identifies individuals who, through their efforts, are helping to make New Jersey a better place to live, work and do business.
