Caden Traggiai, Penn State Altoona student-athlete in men's swimming
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona student-athlete Caden Traggiai, of Saxonburg, was announced as the State University of New York Athletic Conference's (SUNYAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 26.
Traggiai had three individual first place finishes in last Saturday's home tri-meet, when the Lions defeated non-conference opponents Juniata College, 164-92, and Elizabethtown College, 150-109.
Traggiai's first win of the day came in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle, during which he clocked in with a time of 10:23.95 to finish atop the standings. Later in the meet, he won the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:01.21 and also prevailed in the 400 Yard IM after finishing in 4:27.51.
Traggiai was also part of the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that took third place with a total time of 1:36.81.
This is the Traggiai's second SUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the Week award this season.
Penn State Altoona men's swimming finishes its regular season on the road on Jan. 31 when the Lions visit conference opponent Pitt-Bradford for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
