Sign and Sign Support Replacement on I-91 and Route 190 in various towns in Connecticut

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that sign and sign support replacements will be performed on I-91 and Route 190 in East Windsor, Enfield, Windsor and Windsor Locks. This project was scheduled to commence on Friday, September 19, 2025, and will be completed on Friday, October 1, 2027. Project 0171-0482 consists of replacing extruded aluminum signs and signs supports that have exceeded their useful life including, but not limited to, large overhead and side mounted guide signs, on-ramp entrance signs, and service signs.

CTDOT Project No. 0171-0482 was awarded to Ducci Electrical Contractors, Inc at a cost of $9,869,000.00 on August 5, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed October 1, 2027. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be various lane and shoulder closures on I-91 and Route 190 from Monday, September 29, 2025, to Friday, October 1, 2027 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Traffic control signing patterns, and police will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
