Euclid Chemical Launches EUCON R3A to Advance Concrete Circularity

Returned concrete presents an ongoing resource-management challenge for concrete manufacturers. When unused material is returned to a plant following a delivery, it can generate waste and create additional handling and disposal requirements. Euclid Chemical is helping customers address this challenge with EUCON® R3A, an innovative admixture designed to transform returned concrete into reusable material.

EUCON R3A gives concrete producers an opportunity to recover value from material that might otherwise be discarded. By supporting the reuse of returned concrete, the admixture helps reduce waste and promotes more efficient resource utilization throughout the construction process. This approach aligns with circular economy principles by keeping materials in productive use and reducing the need to treat returned concrete solely as a waste stream.

This product demonstrates how RPM businesses are incorporating sustainability into product development while continuing to address practical customer needs. Rather than focusing solely on how a product is manufactured, RPM's approach considers what the product allows customers to accomplish. EUCON R3A, for instance, offers concrete producers a more productive way to manage returned material while supporting their waste-reduction objectives.

EUCON R3A also reflects the broader work underway through RPM's Product Stewardship initiative. RPM evaluates new products and formulations to promote safer chemistry, improve resource efficiency, and develop solutions that help customers advance their own sustainability goals. These efforts include reducing or mitigating certain chemical compounds, incorporating bio-based or recycled materials, and creating technologies that extend asset life or reduce waste.

Through solutions like EUCON R3A, Euclid Chemical is demonstrating how product innovation can support both environmental responsibility and customer value. By turning returned concrete into a reusable resource, the product contributes to a more circular approach to construction materials and reinforces RPM's commitment to Building a Better World.
