Summer chalk art celebrations in Hillsboro and Washington County will look a little different in 2026. After many memorable years, La Strada dei Pastelli Chalk Art Festival will not be held this summer as Tualatin Valley Creates (TVC), the lead organization on the event, welcomes a new executive director and looks to reimagine how it delivers impactful programs to the community.
"Chalk art is such a powerful visual medium that brings community together and lets spectators watch the creative process unfold," said Johanna Flores, who took over as TVC Executive Director in Fall 2025. "TVC is committed to keeping the spirit of La Strada alive as we work to develop a sustainable, community-centered, and artist-forward plan for future festivals."
While the two-day festival itself will not return in 2026, there is potential for smaller chalk art activities to pop-up around Hillsboro and the Tualatin Valley with the goal of expanding access, uplifting local artists, and bringing chalk art experiences to a broader audience.
More updates will be shared in 2026 as details are confirmed.
TVC sincerely appreciates the community's enthusiasm and support for this event over the years. The organization is grateful to the artists, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and partners who have made La Strada so special.
