Beware of Insurance Scams After a Disaster
If your home has been damaged after a disaster, you may be targeted by scammers trying take advantage of you during this vulnerable time. Scammers can come in the form of door knockers, phone calls or emails. Please remain vigilant. Survivors should carefully review adjuster contracts, understand fees-typically a percentage of the insurance claim-and verify the adjuster's license on the California Department of Insurance's website.
