April 16, 2026

New Haven, CT -- Today, U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Connecticut on the Returning Education to the States Tour.

Secretary McMahon toured Lincoln Technical Institute in Shelton, a career-focused vocational school offering hands-on training in health sciences and skilled trades. During the visit, she observed nursing, HVAC, and electrical programs. She then traveled to Yale University for a campus tour and a roundtable discussion on higher education and workforce development.

"It was wonderful to be in my home state of Connecticut today to highlight a core educational priority central to student success and our nation's future prosperity: ensuring that higher education equips students with the skills to succeed in the workforce," said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. "From the rigorous, hands-on training demonstrated at Lincoln Technical Institute to the substantive discussions at Yale University, the visit offered important insights into how institutions across Connecticut are preparing students for meaningful careers and contributing to a stronger national talent pipeline."
