JACKSON, Tenn. - The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announces a paving project on U.S. 51 (S.R. 3) in Dyersburg beginning Monday, April 6, 2026.
The project will cover approximately 5.690 miles, extending from Ragan Levee Road to near U.S. 412. Construction activities will take place during both daytime and nighttime hours, and motorists should expect intermittent lane closures throughout the duration of the work.
The project is scheduled for completion on or before October 31, 2026. Ford Construction Company is the prime contractor, with a total project cost of approximately $10.4 million.
TDOT also maintains a 3-Year Paving Program, which is updated annually and outlines planned resurfacing work across the state. To learn more, visit: https://www.tn.gov/tdot/pm/programs/pavement-program.html
As always, drivers are reminded to slow down and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee carries the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of up to $500.
