Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center launches extended-hours clinic for sudden orthopaedic and sports-related injuries

Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center has expanded access to care with the launch of Emory Ortho Now, a new clinic offering Saturday and weeknight walk-in appointments for patients with sudden injuries such as sprains, fractures or sports-related injuries. Weeknight clinic hours will begin in October.

The clinic provides fast, convenient treatment for same-day injuries that don't require an emergency department visit. Patients can walk in without an appointment and receive care from advanced practice providers (APPs) trained in orthopaedics and sports medicine.

"Weekend games and weeknight practices mean injuries don't always happen during business hours," says Carmen Benoit, PA-C, chief APP at Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center, who oversees the team of APPs leading the clinic. "The clinic allows athletes, families and anyone with an unexpected injury to receive expert care right away."
