Trevecca Nazarene University has been honoring Black History Month with a variety of events throughout February. These activities recognize individuals who have significantly influenced the nation's history and also reflect the university's ongoing commitment to diversity.
Special events hosted in recognition of Black History Month include:
Monday, Feb. 16Civil Rights Tours
Students have been exploring important sites and stories connected to the civil rights movement.

Wednesday, Feb. 18Karaoke Night
Students enjoyed a relaxed evening of music and fellowship.
Thursday, Feb. 19Basketball Halftime Celebration
Trevecca basketball alumni were invited back to campus to reconnect and take part in a special halftime program.
Friday, Feb. 20 MENERGY
A group of men gathered in community to focus on encouragement, leadership and growth.
Friday, Feb. 20Black Renaissance Festival
Students enjoyed an evening celebrating Black culture through art and performance.
Saturday, Feb. 21 Belle Meade: Journey to Jubilee
This event provided an educational experience examining history and heritage in the Nashville area.
Many of this year's events were supported by Trevecca's Walden Club, the University's African American student-led organization founded in 2017. Named after Walden College, a historic institution that once stood on the land where Trevecca's campus now resides, the club honors a powerful legacy.
