ISU Planetarium features “One Sky,” beginning August 14

The Illinois State University Planetarium is pleased to premiere One Sky, running weekends beginning Friday, August 14, 2026. Show times are Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

There are no presentations of One Sky during Labor Day Weekend, September 4-5, and ISU Family Weekend, September 18-20.

One Sky is a fulldome show exploring the night sky from the perspective of six different cultures or indigenous societies from around the globe. These include the ancient Greeks, the Diné or Navajo, the people of 18th-century India, the First People of what is now northern Canada, and the ancient Japanese. Themes include finding patterns among the stars and developing tools to seek distant horizons.

After the program, we explore the highlights found in the current evening sky, including the bright stars, constellations, and planets visible from Central Illinois.

Tickets may be purchased next to the Planetarium beginning 20 minutes before each show. Cash or check only. Seating is limited.

Regular admission is:

  • $6 for children, ages 5-12, seniors, and Illinois State ID holders;
  • $7 for adults;
  • $5 for children, ages 3-4;

The ISU Planetarium is located in the Felmley Hall of Science Annex, at the intersection of College Avenue and School Street, in Normal. Free surface parking is available a short distance from the ISU Planetarium in the University's red-tag F-67 parking lot, on the east side of School Street.
