EUCAP supports IORIS training for the Somaliland Coast Guard and Somaliland Immigration and Border Control in Hargeisa

EUCAP, through its Field Office in Somaliland, supported the organisation of an IORIS training programme for the Somaliland Coast Guard and Somaliland Immigration and Border Control in Hargeisa.

CRIMARIO is an EU-funded maritime capacity building initiative, utilising the integrated approach, trainings were conducted from 26 to 29 January 2026. The training strengthened the maritime domain awareness and enhanced cooperation among maritime and border authorities.

The course was officially opened by Admiral Ahmed Hure Haariye, Commander of the Somaliland Coast Guard, together with the EU CRIMARIO instructor and EUCAP's Acting Head of Field Office Somaliland.

This initiative contributes to enhancing regional maritime security and information sharing through the IORIS platform.
