On March 1, 2026, in connection with the declaration of national mourning in the Islamic Republic of Iran over the death of the Supreme Leader of the State, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and as a sign of grief for the victims of the recent tragic events in the country, the flag of the Organisation was flown at half-mast at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Beijing.
