HAWORTH RECOGNIZED WITH 3 IDEA FINALISTS

September 18, 2025 - Haworth's newest task chair, Breck, and the Wyn mobile lounge chair have both been recognized as finalists in the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) product category. A Haworth sponsored project, ArtCenter College of Design's "The Neighborhood," earned an IDSA IDEA finalist spot for students.

A finalist in the Furniture & Lighting category, Breck utilizes decades of seating expertise and 5.5 billion data points to create a simple, intuitive and responsive task chair. As the latest addition to Haworth's office seating portfolio, Breck also features the lowest carbon footprint - at just 55.6 kg CO₂e, this chair is made with 58% recycled content and is 94% recyclable at end of life.

Wyn is a finalist in the Office & Accessories category. Designed by Brad Ascalon, this mobile lounge chair bridges the gap between traditional lounge and conference seating, providing both flexibility of movement and ergonomic support to sit comfortably for long periods of time. Wyn features a five-star caster base and height adjustability along with several optional features for activity based work.

In partnership with Haworth, ArtCenter College of Design students were challenged to create space that attracts people and enables them to interact, be productive and achieve a sense of joy in doing their best work. "The Neighborhood", designed by students Ruirui Wang, David Hwang and Candice Yao, features a customizable office environment utilizing modular wall shelving, roof baffles and various interchangeable structural units. This concept is inspired by real-world communities with the goal of strengthening connection and belonging in a work environment.
