TFD Responds to Residential Fire on Longevity Lane

September 23, 2025

On September 23, at 10:36 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Longevity Lane. Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the front of the residence. Crews made entry into the home and quickly extinguished the fire.

One individual suffered minor injuries while getting out of the home before firefighters arrived. The person was evaluated on scene and declined transport to the hospital. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature. There were no other injuries.

Personnel from Stations 13, 3 and 1 responded to the incident. The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS, Woodville VFD and Talquin Electric Cooperative.

TFD reminds all residents to have working smoke alarms on every level of their home and to regularly review and practice home fire escape plans. Early fire detection and preparation saves lives. Get tips and more fire safety information by following TFD on Facebook and visiting Talgov.com/Fire.
