and Kansas City Royals

Banking service provider of the Kansas City Royals, Commerce celebrates 160 years of community partnerships with "Commerce Bank: Helping Kids Take the Field"

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Commerce Bank is continuing its decades-long support of Kansas City Royals baseball and more than a century and a half of backing the Kansas City community with "Commerce Bank: Helping Kids Take the Field." During this community collection drive, all 45 Commerce branches in the Kansas City and St. Joseph communities will collect baseball and softball equipment for young athletes in T-ball through High School. Commerce team members will later volunteer their time to gather and organize the equipment.

Commerce Bank, in working with the Urban Youth Academy, the Kansas City Royals, 2015 World Series Champion Alex Gordon, and Royals rookie standout Noah Cameron is inviting fans, customers, and the greater Kansas City community to donate new and gently used youth baseball and softball equipment, specifically:

  • Baseballs
  • Bats
  • Batting gloves
  • Equipment Bags
  • Gloves
  • Hats
  • Helmets
  • Socks
  • Uniform Pants

The equipment collection drive will run from Tuesday, July 15 through Tuesday, September 30 at Commerce Bank branch locations across the Kansas City and St. Joseph areas. As part of the campaign, the Kansas City Royals will host a special fan collection event on Saturday, September 6 at Kauffman Stadium - fans attending the game will have an opportunity to donate equipment and support local youth athletes.

Three-time MLB All-Star and 2025 Royals Hall of Fame Inductee Alex Gordon continues his winning ways by supporting children in the Kansas City community and the Urban Youth Academy. Gordon is scheduled to appear with Commerce leadership, encouraging Royals fans to give generously.

Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron will support the drive appearing at the Commerce Bank Ashland branch later this summer.

The Urban Youth Academy offers year-round programs for children between five and 18 years old from diverse communities. Since 2018, more than 60,000 children and their families have visited the Urban Youth Academy facility in Kansas City's historic 18th and Vine District.

"Commerce has been supporting the Royals since the beginning of the franchise and growing its deep connection to the greater Kansas City community for even longer," said Kevin Barth, Chairman and CEO, Commerce Bank - Kansas City. "'Commerce Bank: Helping Kids Take the Field,' is a great way to combine those long-term relationships to help young athletes all over the region."
