Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Dana Strachan was recently selected to join the Walgreens Deans Advisory Council, a dynamic collective of 18 pharmacy academia leaders from across the United States.
The council focuses on increasing collaboration and idea-sharing within schools and colleges of pharmacy. Since its inception in 2024, the council has launched a Walgreens Student Loan 401(k) Match program, a pre-pharmacy employer-sponsored tuition assistance program, and a 24-month post-graduate fellowship program.
Dean Strachan will represent pharmacy schools and colleges in South and Central Florida-just one of the council's 14 operational regions.
"I am incredibly grateful to have been invited to join the Walgreens Deans Advisory Council," said Dr. Strachan. "I look forward to strengthening connections within the pharmacy education community, enhancing student training for community pharmacy practice, and supporting the development of a strong future workforce."
PBA's rigorous pharmacy program is earmarked by unique professional opportunities-including medical mission trips and clinical rotations at top biotech and pharmaceutical companies and national organizations. What's more, PBA pharmacy students consistently achieve or surpass national averages on the NAPLEX and MPJE exams, ranking the university among Florida's top pharmacy schools.
