CenterPoint frontline workforce is prepared and ready to respond to potential impacts on system.
Customers urged to sign up for Power Alert Service® to get latest updates about their service, activate safety plans and prepare for heavy precipitation and potential isolated flooding.
HOUSTON - September 30, 2026 - To support its customers and communities, CenterPoint Energy teams are monitoring the statewide forecasts related to the remnants of Hurricane Polo that are beginning to impact Western Texas. The company is taking precautionary safety actions and is prepared to respond to potentially heavy rainfall by the end of the week and into the weekend. As of 3 p.m. today, the National Weather Service forecasts 2 - 4 inches of rain in total by the end of the weekend with isolated higher amounts possible primarily west and along the coast. With incoming potentially active weather approaching, CenterPoint Energy urges all customers to register to receive important service-related updates via text, email or phone call through Power Alert Service®.
"Our CenterPoint Energy teams are taking actions now to support our customers ahead of forecasted heavy rainfall, including continuing to monitor conditions, inspecting critical equipment and scheduling additional crews, and positioning equipment to help restore power safely and as quickly as possible. We encourage all customers across the Greater Houston area to prepare and stay safe in anticipation of quickly changing weather conditions," said Jason Fabre, CenterPoint Energy's Vice President of Distribution and Special Response.
