Coordinated Retail Theft Suspects Apprehended by RCPD and SSO

Recently, RCPD officers and SSO deputies responded to a local department store, after receiving information that three subjects who stole items from the same department store in Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Davis, and Sacramento were possibly headed to Rancho Cordova to commit more retail theft. The subjects were last seen in a white rental van with Arizona license plates.

After combing the area, RCPD and SSO were able to locate the van in the parking lot of a local store. A female exited the van and was detained, while other officers contacted the female driver and a male passenger and detained them as well, pending further investigation. A records check of the detained subjects revealed one of them was on formal searchable probation for prior theft convictions in Sacramento County.

Upon searching the vehicle, numerous stolen items from various department stores in the greater Sacramento region, as well as Rancho Cordova, were located inside the van. The suspects were positively identified by loss prevention and all three of them were arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail to be booked on a myriad of charges.

Thanks to inter-agency collaboration, and the teamwork between RCPD and SSO, this retail theft crew was stopped before they could victimize any further businesses and our community.

(Due to laws passed in the state of California several years ago, arrested subjects are now afforded a "right to privacy", and cannot have their identities revealed, unless there is a continued threat to the public, ongoing investigation, in which their identity may be of assistance in their apprehension and prosecution. As such, we are required by law to conceal their identities.)
