The City of West Hollywood has received confirmation from eyewitnesses that relayed information to our law enforcement partners at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood Station that a raid was conducted this morning, Friday, July 4, 2025, by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a beloved local car wash.
The City of West Hollywood unequivocally condemns this ICE raid, as well as other recent raids carried out across our region. These actions are not only disruptive and hostile, they also represent discriminatory assaults on our communities. They target immigrant families, sow fear, and undermine trust.
We reaffirm: our immigrant communities are not threats - they are vital contributors to the social, cultural, and economic fabric of our city, our state, and our nation.
On a day meant to honor the ideals of liberty, democracy, and freedom from oppression, we instead confront a deeply troubling reminder of federal overreach. Independence Day should be a time for reflection and reverence, not fear and persecution.
The City of West Hollywood will not remain silent. We will continue to raise our voices in opposition to federal actions that violate the rights, safety, and dignity of our community members. We remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding human rights, advancing equity, and fostering an inclusive community for all.
We strongly encourage members of our immigrant communities to be informed. Please review your rights and available resources through the LA County Office of Immigrant Affairs website: https://oia.lacounty.gov.
