NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS, APPLICATIONS FOR COURTESY LICENSE, AND DEFINITIONS IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE ALASKA BOARD OF PSYCHOLOGIST AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE EXAMINERS

Notice of proposed changes to the requirements for continuing education hours, applications for courtesy license, and definitions in the regulations of the Alaska Board of Psychologist and Psychologist Associate Examiners.

Brief Description

The Board of Psychologist and Psychological Associate Examiners proposes to change regulations to update continuing education requirements, repeal a checklist form adopted by reference for internal administrative purposes related to applications for courtesy licenses, and to update definitions.

The Board of Psychologist and Psychological Associate Examiners (Board) proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 60 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with continuing education requirements, administrative forms relating to applications for courtesy licenses, and definitions, including the following:

1. 12 AAC 60.065 is proposed for repeal in the section's entirety, to remove the form adopted by reference and used by the department when processing an application for a courtesy license. The purpose of the repeal is to allow the department the flexibility to make amendments to the form with ease and immediacy as required for internal administrative fluency.
   
   
2. 12 AAC 60.260 is proposed to add the requirement for at least half of required hours to be obtained by live interactive programs, courses, or training sessions, including a proposed definition for the term "live interactive".
   
   
3. 12 AAC 60.990 is proposed to add a definition for the term "face-to-face" as referenced in 12 AAC 60.080, 12 AAC 60.083, and 12 AAC 60.400.

You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Alison Osborne, Regulations Specialist, Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, P.O. The comments must be received not later than 4:30 p.m. on February 14, 2025.
