A Gallatin woman was arrested for felony reckless endangerment after she was identified as the shooter who fired a gunshot out of the passenger side of a gray Dodge Charger toward the Davidson County Sheriff's Office on South Fifth Street the morning of January 1.
A Madison Precinct patrol officer was able to locate a Charger matching the description on Creekwood Drive, which was registered to Tonisha Harris, 26. During a subsequent contact with the car in January on Fain Street, Harris was interviewed. She initially told detectives she could not remember much but knew she did not fire a weapon and did not drive the Charger that morning.
A firearm was seized from the Charger, which was later found to have matched the shell casing recovered from the scene. Harris' cell phone data was also recovered and showed she was in the area of DCSO around 2:20 a.m. New Year's Day.
Harris was arrested in Clarksville and was booked on her outstanding warrant in Nashville this morning. During an interview with detectives, she admitted to firing a shot while intoxicated and celebrating the new year, but thought it was up in the air.
She is now jailed on $10,000 bond.
