Please join with us to remember the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001.
A brief, respectful remembrance ceremony will be held at each City firehouse on Thursday, September 11, 2025, starting at 9:50 a.m. (Group 1 is on duty).
Thursday, September 11, 2025, marks the 24th anniversary of the attacks on the United States. Thanks to the committment of all our members and a supportive City administration, the Cambridge Fire Department has evolved since those attacks into a more modern, balanced, all-hazard emergency response organization.
In addition to remembering the 343 Fire Department members killed on 9-11, we will also honor all those whose lives were lost that day and in the years since due to cancer and other illnesses as a result or responding to and working at the World Trade Center site in New York City. We will also remember the brave men and women who have given selflessly in the armed forces to preserve the cause of freedom.
Everyone is invited to join with firefighters to participate in the ceremony at your neighborhood firehouse.
For those who are not available to participate in the ceremony on September 11, 2025, please take quiet a moment to remember all of the sacrifices made on that day and since then.
