This week, democracy prevailed in North Carolina's Supreme Court race, as disgraced Republican candidate Jefferson Griffin finally conceded the election to lawful winner Justice Allison Riggs. For nearly six months, Griffin and North Carolina Republicans made multiple attempts to steal a fair and free election and undermine the will of voters. Let this victory be a message to Republicans everywhere: any attempt to undermine democracy will lose.
In the latest showing of Democrats' momentum and continued overperformance, candidates in Texas and Nebraska secured victories up and down the ballot. As Trump and MAGA Republicans continue to make life harder for Americans, their approval rates are plummeting and voters are looking for an alternative who will protect their rights and pocketbooks. Democrats are offering just that. As we approach 2026, Democrats have momentum on our side and will continue to compete and win everywhere.
As part of our "Fight to Save Medicaid" month of action, Democrats are hosting another round of "People's Town Halls" in vulnerable House Republicans' districts to increase pressure on the GOP lawmakers to listen to their constituents and stand against dangerous Medicaid cuts. This weekend, Sen. Ruben Gallego will host a "People's Town Hall" in Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick's (PA-01) district, while Sen. Chris Murphy and Rep. Maxwell Frost host a "People's Town Hall" in Rep. Greg Steube's (FL-17) district to hold both Republicans accountable.
Meanwhile, DNC Chair Ken Martin outlined his vision to ensure the Democratic Party doesn't just look towards the next election but builds the long-term infrastructure needed for a permanent majority. Last month, the DNC announced the largest-ever monthly investments into our Democratic state parties in Republican controlled states to turbocharge organizing efforts and party building. Through these investments, Chair Martin is making good on his mission to build back power in red states that will put Democrats in a strong position to win elections for the next decade - far beyond 2026 and 2028.
