Wyden Announces Six July Town Halls in Eastern Oregon

Senator's open-to-all town halls on July 6-8 will be in Malheur, Harney, Grant, Baker, Union and Wallowa counties

Portland - U.S. Senator Ron Wyden today announced he will hold open-to-all town halls in six Eastern Oregon counties from July 6-8.

Heading into these four town halls, Wyden has held 1,168 open-to-all town halls statewide in keeping his promise to hold at least one town hall each year in each of Oregon's 36 counties.

"Eastern Oregon is thousands of miles away from Washington, DC but these open-to-all town halls shorten that distance so everybody can make their voice heard," Wyden said. "I very much look forward to answering questions and listening to all views at these Eastern Oregon town halls in July that can help make our state an even better place to live, work and raise a family."

The schedule for the upcoming town halls is as follows:

Monday, July 6

  • Malheur County, 11 am MT, Capt. John W. Brown Armory, 1330 SW Fourth Street, Ontario
  • Harney County, 2:30 pm PT, Harney County Chamber of Commerce Community Room, 484 N Broadway, Burns

Tuesday, July 7

  • Grant County, 10 am PT, Grant County Regional Airport, 720 Airport Rd, John Day
  • Baker County, 2 pm PT, Baker City Armory, 1640 Campbell St, Baker City

Wednesday, July 8

  • Union County, 10 am PT, La Grande Armory Conference Center, 404 12th St, La Grande
  • Wallowa County, 3 pm PT, Fishtrap, 107 W Main St, Enterprise

For everyone's security, backpacks and large bags will not be allowed in the town halls. Similar to major sporting events, there is a clear bag policy for town halls, allowing only clear bags (max 12″x 6″x12″), one-gallon clear plastic bags, or small clutches (max 4.5″x 6.5″), plus essential items like medical bags or infant necessities, with no storage for disallowed bags. Backpacks and non-clear bags are prohibited, though medical/infant needs have exceptions. Doors will open 30 minutes before the town hall start time for attendees.
