Congressman Robert Garcia Statement Following Supreme Court Decision Striking Down President Trump’s Destructive Tariffs

LONG BEACH, CA - Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) released the following statement after the Supreme Court struck down President Trump's global tariffs, which raised costs for small businesses, consumers, and families.

"Donald Trump has caused chaos globally with his reckless tariff policies that have raised prices and impacted America's ports," said Congressman Robert Garcia. "The Supreme Court has made it clear that these tariffs are illegal and harming consumers. It's time to move forward and bring costs down for families."

As co-chair of the Congressional Ports Opportunity, Renewal, Trade, and Security (PORTS) Caucus, Congressman Garcia has been focused on reducing costs and protecting small businesses and working families from tariff impacts. Last May, Congressman Garcia hosted a press conference at the Port of Long Beach to address the major damage and chaos to the economy caused by President Trump's tariffs.
