MKC Board Elects Grant Klingenberg as Chairman

WICHITA, Kansas (July 24, 2026)- The MKC Board of Directors has elected Grant Klingenberg of Peabody as chairman of the board, effective July 22, 2026.

Klingenberg has served on the MKC Board of Directors for the past five years and most recently served as board secretary. He succeeds Allan Wegner, who served as chairman for the past nine years.
"It's a great honor to serve in this role," Klingenberg said. "MKC has been an important part of our operation and our community for many years. I appreciate the trust my fellow directors have placed in me, and I look forward to working alongside the board and leadership team to serve our member-owners and help position MKC for the future."

"Grant represents what makes our cooperative strong," said MKC President and CEO Brad Stedman. "He understands agriculture, values relationships, and cares deeply about the success of fellow producers. I look forward to working with him as we continue building on MKC's strong foundation and serving our member-owners."

The board also expressed its appreciation to Allan Wegner for his nine years of leadership as chairman. Allan's steady guidance, commitment to the cooperative, and dedication to serving member-owners have helped shape MKC's growth and success over the past decade.

Klingenberg farms near Peabody with his father and two brothers. Their operation includes cattle, a feedyard, and row crops, and Grant oversees the cattle and feedyard side of the business.

A graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Grant is passionate about agriculture and the future of rural communities. He and his wife, Allie, are raising their three children on the family farm.
