Brentwood is welcoming new additions at the Streets of Brentwood with Handel's Ice Cream opening soon and Dutch Bros set for early 2026, plus a second Dutch Bros at Lone Tree Crossings. Also coming this fall, Namaste Plaza will open in October at Lone Tree Crossings, offering authentic Indian groceries with a restaurant to follow in 2026.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

During the campaign period, the Brentwood Police Department conducted one DUI Checkpoint and multiple DUI Saturation Patrols to increase roadway safety and raise awareness about impaired driving.

DUI Checkpoint - August 29, 2025

• 1,070 drivers contacted

• 1 DUI arrest

• 1 suspended license violation

• 7 drivers cited for driving without a license

DUI Saturation Patrols (Campaign Period)

• 5 DUI arrests

• 1 suspended/revoked license violation

The Brentwood Police Department reminds everyone to prioritize safety on the roads. Drivers are encouraged to make responsible choices behind the wheel by never driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

PARKS AND RECREATION

Applications are now open for the 2026 exhibit at the Brentwood Community Center and Brentwood Library. We invite local artists to apply for the opportunity to showcase their work, connect with the community, and build relationships with regional art organizations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year's magical Potter in the Park! We loved seeing families in costume, crafting, playing, and celebrating the spirit of imagination together. The evening concluded perfectly with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabanunder the stars. Our Parks and Recreation Department looks forward to welcoming you back to Potter in the Park next year; Wands at the ready!

Spread holiday cheer by taking part in Brentwood's 5th annual Adopt-A-Senior program. Each year, community members sign up to "adopt" a local senior by providing gifts and a grocery card to brighten their holiday season. Seniors in the program are homebound, on limited incomes, or without nearby family, and your support makes a big difference.

Wish lists will be available in early November, and gifts will be due in early December. Sign-ups are open now for anyone who would like to participate.

LEAF BAG PROGRAM RETURNS OCTOBER 1ST

In an effort to minimize the impact of fallen leaves in storm drains and to help street sweeping efforts, the City provides FREE leaf bags between October - January to City residents.

Brentwood is applying to renew its Bike Friendly Community status and your feedback matters! As part of the review process, the League of American Bicyclists is asking for your input about bicycling in the City of Brentwood through an online survey. The goal of the survey is to help the League gain a better understanding of local bicyclists' experiences and perceptions. Whether you bike every day or on occasion, we encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey. It only takes a few minutes to complete and will be open until Sunday, October 5th.

The City has contracted with Ghilotti Bros., Inc. (GBI) to do improvements along Helen Myers Way (Midway), from Pine St to Birch St, and Park Way, from Chestnut St to Birch St. Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 22nd, 2025 and anticipated to be completed by September 2026.

The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors seeks an At Large Alternate for the CCCFPD Advisory Fire Commission. The Commission is responsible for confirming cost of abatement reports; conducting weed abatement appeal hearings; approving surplus equipment declarations; and advising the Fire Chief on District service matters. Applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, October 3,2025.
