WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) announced Quiana Salazar-King, Esq. is serving as his new State Director.

"From working at the New Mexico State Legislature to the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center, Quiana has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for our communities. Salazar-King most recently served as Lead Legal Analyst to New Mexico Speaker of the House Javier Martínez (D-N.M.). Salazar-King previously served as Director of Community Engagement for the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center and as Director of Career Strategies for the University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Law.
Additionally, Salazar-King was a co-professor at UNM - including the UNM School of Law - and was a former Associate Attorney for Butt Thornton and Baehr, PC.
Formerly, Salazar-King was a law clerk for the US Attorney's Office, Indian Country Division; Butt Thornton & Baehr, PC; McGinn, Carpenter, Montoya, & Love, P.A.; and the New Mexico Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division. Salazar-King also served as a policy advisor for Bernalillo County Commissioner, Maggie Hart Stebbins, an analyst for the New Mexico House of Representatives, and a Financial Sales Associate for Bloomberg Financial L.P. in Hong Kong.
Salazar-King earned a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., and received her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she served as a Professional Articles Editor for the New Mexico Law Review and received Clinical Honors for her advocacy in the Community Lawyering Clinic.
