EU provides €700,000 humanitarian aid for civilians affected by conflict at Cambodia-Thailand border

PHNOM PENH - The European Union is providing €700,000 (approximately USD 816,000) in emergency humanitarian funding to support people most affected by the recent conflict along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

The funding will support communities most affected by the conflict, which has led to significant displacement. The EU's assistance will support interventions in multipurpose cash assistance (MPCA), mental health and psychological support (MHPSS) and displacement tracking (DTM) for a maximum 6-month period.

This emergency humanitarian funding will complement ongoing support provided through partners in the region. Earlier this year, the European Union allocated €76 million in humanitarian aid to address the needs of people affected by the main crises in South and Southeast Asia.

All European Union interventions are based on thorough needs assessments and are delivered in full adherence to the humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.
