Fathers and father figures, especially those with children under 18, can join us for a free support group to practice parenting skills while connecting with others.

Come to one or all of our five-session series on Saturdays from 10:30am - 12:30pm at the Berkeley Central Library. Bring your children and enjoy gift cards, lunch and refreshments, and other goodies.

Fathers play a huge role in their children's health and wellbeing. While existing programs include other parent groups, this series focuses on the unique experiences of fathers and father figures.

Sessions start March 8; register online today and join us to get support and resources for your fatherhood journey.

All who identify as father figures are welcome to attend. Sessions will cover topics including:

  • Understanding the stages of child development
  • Navigating co-parenting
  • Finding employment and balancing work with parenting
  • Enrolling your children in school and supporting their education
  • Taking care of yourself so you can show up at your best

We designed the support group to include your kids, so bring them with you! We will provide tasty lunches and refreshments at each meeting. We'll also provide gift cards and you can earn Fatherhood Initiative merchandise, like t-shirts or beanies, for participating in groups.

The Berkeley Central Library is a 3-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART, close to several AC Transit lines, and a block away from our protected bikeway on Milvia Street. There is free on-street parking nearby or there is a paid garage down the block at 2020 Kittredge Street that costs $7.50 for 3 hours.
