SW 28th Terrace Sewer Main Repair

The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southern Underground Industries are responding to a damaged 8-inch sewer main along SW 28th Terrace between SW 16th Street and SW 17th Street in Chula Vista.

The emergency repair is underway as of Wednesday, January 21, and is estimated to take approximately two weeks to complete. Work is taking place around the clock until the repair is completed. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Intermittent noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup alarms is expected. When work is taking place overnight, temporary lights will be used to illuminate the work area. The contractor will take measures to reduce light and noise impacts for surrounding neighbors.

Traffic Impacts

  • SW 28th Terrace will be open to local traffic only between SW 16th Street and SW 17th Street while this work is underway.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
