Raytheon-Rafael joint venture ramps up air defense munition production

EAST CAMDEN, Ark., Oct. 9, 2026 - Raytheon-Rafael Protection Systems (R2S) has delivered the first Tamir interceptors produced at its new manufacturing facility in Camden, Arkansas, marking the start of U.S. production for the combat-proven Iron Dome Weapon System. Raytheon is an RTX business.

Opened in late 2025 after a large capital investment, the Camden facility quickly stood up production as the first site outside Israel to manufacture Tamir interceptors.

With operations underway, R2S is scaling output to meet growing Israel and U.S. demand for short and medium range air defense, a market that continues to grow amid evolving global security requirements.

"For the first time, we can produce these interceptors in the United States," said Jonathan Casey, R2S Chief Executive Officer. "Domestic production strengthens our industrial base and provides the U.S. and its allies with another reliable, scalable source for these critical defensive systems."

In addition to Israeli Tamir interceptors, the Camden facility is planning to produce the U.S. variant of Tamir in support of the U.S. Marine Corps' Medium Range Intercept Capability, further strengthening the defense of both Israel and the United States.
