Next stop, St. Thomas and Cancun! Breeze adds nonstop flights from TPA to the U.S. Virgin Islands and Mexico

Say hello to St. Thomas and Cancun! Today, Tampa International Airport and airline partner Breeze Airways announced new, nonstop flights from TPA to Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Cancun, Mexico. The flights to STT will be the first-ever nonstop service between TPA and St. Thomas and the route to Cancun will be Breeze's first destination in Mexico from Tampa International Airport.

Both routes to St. Thomas and Cancun are scheduled to operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Service to St. Thomas is scheduled to begin on December 16 followed by Cancun on December 19.

With the addition of these new routes, Breeze continues to grow its presence at America's Favorite Airport, now offering 37 nonstop destinations from TPA of which five are international.

"These two new routes mark exciting milestones for Tampa International Airport: Our first-ever flights to St. Thomas and Breeze Airways' first-ever service to Mexico from TPA," said TPA CEO Michael Stephens. "Both destinations are in high demand among Tampa Bay travelers, and the timing couldn't be better as we look ahead to this year's busy holiday travel season. We can't wait to celebrate the launch of these routes in December."

From Tampa, travelers will soon be able to jet off to the beautiful shores of St. Thomas or Cancun, where turquoise waters, resorts and charming shops await.

Of note for travelers to St. Thomas: U.S. citizens can visit without a passport as the U.S. Virgin Islands are a territory of the United States, meaning travelers can enjoy the Caribbean's beauty with all the convenience of domestic travel. Travelers must bring a REAL ID government-issued photo ID (like a driver's license) for TSA screening, just as they would for any other domestic flight.
