Washington, DC - U.S. Representative Derek Tran (CA-45) met with Southern California's local law enforcement organizations throughout National Police Week, reaffirming his commitment to the officers who have dedicated their lives to protecting our communities.
Representative Tran heard from law enforcement professionals about the challenges local authorities face, particularly regarding staffing shortages, recruitment, and retention. Tran shared his legislative efforts to bolster resources for law enforcement personnel, from mental health support to increased pay and benefits, to ensure that officers are fairly compensated for their tireless work addressing the community's public safety demands.
"National Police Week is an opportunity to highlight the sacrifice our law enforcement make every day, rushing toward danger to protect our families," said Representative Tran. "But more than that, it's a time to hear directly from our brothers and sisters in uniform, and work together to equip them with the tools to continue serving our communities with dignity and security. I was proud to meet with local public safety heroes from my community who make Orange and LA Counties' streets safer."
